Job summary

Humber River Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 9 East Nephrology Unit. The role is a temporary full-time position with an end date of Jan 18, 2027, at the Wilson site in Toronto.

Responsibilities include RN care for nephrology patients, care planning, and documentation using computerized systems. Rotating 12-hour shifts, days/nights/weekends, with unionized ONA support.

Qualifications

  • Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • 2 years medical experience, nephrology preferred.
  • BCLS certification on hire (exemptions apply for HRH nurses).
  • Good communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • RN responsibilities for nephrology and medicine patients.
  • Coordinate care plans with the team.
  • Document patient care using computerized systems.
  • Participate in hospital committees or project teams as needed.
  • Provide resource and team leadership; precept nursing students.

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to work with our 9 East Nephrology Unit.

Position Details
  • Employment Status: Temporary Full-Time
  • Duration: until Jan 18, 2027
  • Reporting Relationship: Manager, 9 East & West, Medicine & Nephrology
  • Hourly Rate: $41.15 - $58.98
  • Union Group: ONA
  • Hours of work: Rotating shifts, 12 hours, days/nights/weekends
  • Location: Humber River Health, Wilson site
Position Responsibilities
  • RN responsibilities for Nephrology and Medicine focused patients
  • Care planning and coordination of care with various team members.
  • Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patient care.
  • Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required.
  • Resource/team leader responsibilities.
  • Preceptorship of nursing students.
Qualifications
  • Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • BCLS certification upon hire to show proof of valid current certification (Registered Nurses currently employed by HRH are exempted).
  • 2 years recent medical experience with a focus on nephrology preferred.
  • Experience with Peritoneal dialysis, Continuous Ambulatory peritoneal dialysis and continuous cycling peritoneal dialysis preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work with a multidisciplinary team, patients, family members and visitors.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to rotate to other departments.
  • A positive attendance record.
  • Demonstrated good patient assessment skills. Patient assessment course preferred.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
