Reporting to the Program Manager, Pre-Assessment/Day Surgery, the registered nurse is responsible and accountable for the provision of safe, effective, patient-focused nursing care to patients and families. In collaboration with the family and other team members, the registered nurse is responsible for the ongoing assessment and monitoring of the patient’s health status, identification of patient/family needs, development of plans to meet those needs, direct patient care, and evaluation of care. The registered nurse also participates in ongoing professional development and hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives. The nurse is expected to work in all areas, including Local & Adult Day Surgery.
The registered nurse applies current theory and research in care delivery, aligned with the hospital's vision and values, and complies with Occupational Health and Safety standards to promote a safe work environment.
