  • Work Model: In-Office
  • Hours: 37.5 hours weekly
  • Wage Range: $39.07 - 56.00 per hour (Start rate is non-negotiable)
  • Shifts: 12-hour days/nights/weekends/stat holidays - 7:30 - 19:30 (days), 19:30 - 07:30 (nights)
  • Status: Permanent Full-Time
  • Closing Date: May 28, 2025

Position Summary

The registered nurse practices within a multidisciplinary team, adhering to relevant legislation, standards, the UHN Professional Practice Model, and the mission and vision of nursing at UHN. The role involves providing compassionate, collaborative, and competent care, ensuring legal and ethical standards are met.

The 38-bed Medical/Surgical/Neuro Intensive Care Unit is a regional center for neurosurgical and spinal cord injured patients, offering diverse professional challenges and an interprofessional model of care involving various healthcare providers. The environment offers exposure to a wide range of neurological and general internal medical conditions, including neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery.

Responsibilities
  • Applying nursing knowledge, theory, skills, and critical decision-making to provide compassionate and competent care.
  • Ensuring practice aligns with professional standards and ethical frameworks.
  • Participating in continuing education to meet patient care needs and professional standards.
  • Reflective practice to evaluate and improve nursing care quality.
  • Performing additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Physical ability to meet job requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Neurosurgery & Spinal experience preferred.
