Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Peace River is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Casual/Relief role across Emergency, Obstetrics and Acute Care units. The position offers cross-training opportunities to expand clinical skills and cover shifts as needed, ensuring safe, patient- and family-centered care.

Provisional permit holders are paid at the entry rate, with full permit adjustments per UNA guidelines. Relocation assistance, a recruitment incentive, and a remote retention allowance up to $3,000

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

This dynamic role offers fully supported cross-training in Emergency, Obstetrics, and Acute Care. Once cross-trained, you will use your expanded skill set to provide vital nursing support and coverage across these applicable units as assigned to meet operational needs and changing patient volumes. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Relocation assistance available. Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values.PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.
