Alberta Health Services in Cold Lake is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide a broad range of nursing services to patients, families and communities within the Operating Room.
Role emphasizes critical thinking, leadership, and holistic patient-centered care. Provisional permits paid at $40.76–$55.79/hr; full permit rates apply per UNA. 0.42 FTE, part-time regular, with a 12-week shift cycle.
Cold Lake is considered a rural or remote community. Employees who have been employed a full year for a minimum of 400 hours in “an under-served rural or remote community” will qualify for Canada Student Loan Forgiveness (if loan is in good standing). Eligible professionals include: RN, RPN, LPN, and NP.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values.PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.
Completion of an accredited nursing education program.Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:As required.
Preferred Qualifications:Completion of Peri- Operative program or equivalent. ACLS, PALS, NRP.
