Alberta Health Services is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Nephrology and Transplant unit (Unit 37) at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary. The role offers part-time, regular nursing shifts with 7.75-hour days on a 12-week rotation, focusing on patient- and family-centered care and teamwork.
Provisional Permit holders are paid $40.76–$55.79 per hour; upon full practice permit, compensation aligns with UNA rates. Calgary Zone, Foothills Medical Centre.
An exciting opportunity to join our Nephrology and Transplant team on a 45-bed acute care unit at the Foothills Medical Center. We are looking for nurses who are team orientated and passionate about providing patient and family centered care. We are a unit that strives to provide exceptional patient care and work together in a respectful and supportive environment.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values.PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.
Completion of an accredited nursing education program.Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Currently working on an acute medical/surgical inpatient unit of demonstrated comparable acuity. Critical thinking and problem-solving solutions. Ability to contribute as a team member, learn within a dynamic environment and adapt/cope with change. Demonstrated excellent time management and organization skills. Ability to manage the job classification of heavy physical demand level as per the AHS Job Demands Summary.
Candidates with previous experience in nephrology and transplant or a unit of comparable acuity/patient population are strongly preferred. Charge nurse experience preferred. Certification and competency in CVAD, Peritoneal Dialysis, and Solid Organ Transplant preferred.
