Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and current educational practices
  • Passion for early learning and a commitment to quality and safety
  • Experience in licensed childcare is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging curriculum aligned with Childventures' philosophy and standards
  • Customize programming based on observations and children’s developmental stages and interests
  • Conduct regular observations and maintain accurate documentation and child records
  • Establish safe, consistent routines and foster a warm, inclusive classroom environment
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with families regarding each child’s development
  • Support licensing, health, and safety inspections and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with your Team Mentor and Centre Director to maintain and enhance program quality
  • Participate in quality assurance processes, including internal assessments and environmental ratings
  • Attend curriculum and professional development sessions to continually grow your practice
  • Other duties as assigned to support classroom and centre success

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), you will implement high-quality educational programming that supports the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children. Reporting to the Centre Director, you’ll work collaboratively with your team to plan curriculum experiences, maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment, and build meaningful relationships with families and children. You’ll be a role model of professionalism and an ambassador for the Childventures philosophy of learning.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Certification
  • Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education from a recognized Ontario institution
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE)
Experience
  • Experience in a licensed childcare setting is an asset
Knowledge & Skills
  • Familiarity with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and current educational practices
  • Passion for early learning and a commitment to quality and safety
MINISTRY REQUIREMENTS:
  • 2 Step TB
  • Updated Immunizations (Tetanus, MMR, Polio, Varicella, Hepatitis B)
  • Health Assessment (deemed fit for work)
