Registered Early Childhood Educator - Long Term Assignment St. Mary CES, Campbellford17.5 hours per week (PM) Immediately - TBDApplications can be done at home or from outside the school at www.applytoeducation.com no later than 12 : 00 p.m. on the closing date outlined above. Job Function : Work in collaboration with the teacher to plan and implement the Kindergarten program and to maintain a healthy physical, emotional, and social learning environment. Registered Early Childhood Educators work during the regular school day and may also continue appropriate supervision and programming for students in an extended day program. Job Description : 1. Support efforts to integrate faith in all areas of the curriculum, including delivery of the Religion program as well as participate in faith-based activities and liturgies. 2. Registered Early Childhood Educators collaborate teachers in observing, monitoring, and assessing the progress and development of the children in Kindergarten and in communicating with families. 3. Partner with the teacher to plan and implement developmentally appropriate and student-interest driven play-based programming to reach the Four Frames of Learning; Belonging and Contributing, Self- Regulation and Well-Being, Demonstrating Literacy and Mathematics Behaviours and Problem Solving and Innovating. 4. Assist children in becoming independent with washroom routines, dressing and lunchtime activities. Guide students to be independent with toileting and assist when they experience issues. 5. Attend staff meetings, parent conferences, Welcome to Kindergarten Night and other professional development activities. 6. Administer medication in accordance with Board Policy and Administration Regulations; AP-HS-401 Administration of Medication and / or Special Services. 7. Provide age appropriate programming for groups of students as part of an extended day program as required to include : Provision of supervision. Providing direction to assistant if present. Ensuring a healthy and safe environment for students, with diverse activities to engage students and build social competence, emotional maturity, literacy, numeracy and physical skills. Maintaining all appropriate records for students (e.g. attendance, health issues, etc.) Setting up of classroom (e.g. display, upkeep, organization of materials, etc.). Maintaining a hygienic / safe environment 8. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements : 1. Requires O.S.S.D., (plus Early Childhood Education Diploma) with a minimum of six months experience an educational setting. 2. Proof of registration with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators. 3. Knowledge of current Ministry of Education Kindergarten Program. 4. Requires excellent interpersonal qualities and is able to work as a team. 5. Experience planning and implementing developmentally-appropriate programs. 6. Current First Aid and CPR certification. 7. Basic computer skills. 8. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines. 9. Requires knowledge of related legislation and pertinent Board policies and directives such as, but not limited to Administration of Medication and / or Special Services. 10. Requires performing physical duties such as lifting, carrying, extended periods of time walking / standing. 11.
