Job summary

Extendicare seeks a Registered Dietitian to translate science into practical meal plans for patients and families, including pediatric and adult clients. You will work in home, school, or institutional settings with referrals from government agencies, insurers, or private payees.

Responsibilities include planning therapeutic menus, preventing malnutrition, and keeping compliant client records. Relevant licenses and First Aid/CPR are required, with VPS screening a must.

Qualifications

  • Registration/licensing with provincial regulatory college in good standing (College of Dietitians in Ontario).
  • Experience with pediatric clients is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Regulated Health Professionals Act, Dietetics Act, Healthcare Consent Act and related laws.
  • Current certification (within past 12 months) in First Aid and CPR (Canada).
  • Able to provide a current VPS without issues.

  • Determine nutritional needs of patients and plan, implement, and evaluate normal and therapeutic menus to maintain and enhance general health
  • Aid in the prevention and/or treatment of inadequate nutrition
  • Maintain professional client records related to client encounters and plans per ParaMed’s policies and Dietetics regulation standards

As a Registered Dietician, you are uniquely trained to translate scientific, medical and nutrition information into practical healthy meal plans for patients and their families. Client groups receiving your treatment may include Pediatrics for in home or school services and/or Adults with medical/health concerns. Care will take place within a residential or institutional setting with referrals generated by a variety of sources including government agencies, employers, insurance companies or private payees.

What You’ll Do

What you bring
