Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a Health Professional/Assistant to join their team at Juravinski Hospital. This temporary full-time position focuses on providing nutritional care to patients in rehabilitation units. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Applied Human Nutrition, be registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario, and possess strong communication and organizational skills. The role includes patient assessment, nutrition care plan management, and involvement in education for dietetic interns.

Unit Summary
The inpatient Rehabilitation Units at the Juravinski Hospital Site of HHS are located in the M-Wing on units M2 & M3. M2 is an MSK & Oncology Rehabilitation Program and M3 is a Geriatric Rehabilitation Program (GRU). M3 is also developing an Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) rehabilitation service for select elderly, JH CTU Medicine patients at risk of deconditioning during an acute care admission.
Position Summary
As a member of the healthcare team, using a client-centered approach, the Registered Dietitian is responsible for the nutritional care of patients through assessment of nutritional status, prescription, implementation and management of nutrition care plans, counseling and teaching. In addition to patient care, the Dietitian provides leadership and direction in education related to applied nutrition care, and may also participate in applied research and clinical studies. This position primarily provides services to the rehabilitation units, and will also include coverage across other units at the Juravinski Hospital as needed. The Dietitian will participate in student education, as appropriate, including the training of dietetic interns.
Schedule Work Hours
Monday to Friday; days.
This position is temporary until January 2026.
Qualifications
1.Current registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario or eligibility for registration
2. Bachelors Degree in Applied Human Nutrition or Bachelor of Science and successful completion of dietetic internship
3. Knowledge of principles and practical application of applied and therapeutic nutrition
4. Demonstrated clinical evaluation and critical appraisal skills
5. Computer and Medline search skills
6. Demonstrated initiative and ability to function independently
7. Excellent communication, teamwork, problem-solving and organizational skills
8. Ability to teach and facilitate the learning of dietetic interns
9. Recent experience working with in-patient elderly population preferred
10. Member of Dietitians of Canada as required
