We’re seeking a dedicated Dietitian to provide personalized, high-quality nutrition care out of a private practice in Central/SW Calgary. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop tailored nutrition plans, and help clients translate dietary advice into practical lifestyle changes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The key job functions are:

  • Conduct Comprehensive Nutritional Assessments: Review patient charts, medical history, lab data, and health information to assess nutritional needs and identify risks.
  • Develop and Implement Personalized Nutrition Plans: Create evidence-based, tailored nutrition and lifestyle plans, considering potential interactions and lifecycle requirements.
  • Provide Patient-Centered Counselling and Support: Offer personalized coaching, utilizing motivational techniques to help clients achieve health and wellness goals.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Teams for Holistic Care: Work with physicians and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care, advocating for patients as needed.
  • Monitor and Adjust Care Plans Based on Patient Progress: Continuously assess patient outcomes, adjusting plans to meet evolving needs, and maintain thorough documentation.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
  • Current Registration with the Alberta College of Dietitians

Qualifications:

  • Clean criminal background check required

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a clinical dietitian
  • Experience on lifestyle and preventative health an asset
  • Expertise in chronic disease management, motivational interviewing, and health psychology

Skills:

  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Strong ability to evaluate complex health information, troubleshoot issues, and adjust care plans to ensure optimal client outcomes.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Proficiency in working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, ensuring seamless collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to clearly explain complex nutritional concepts in simple, understandable terms while building rapport and trust with clients. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency with Nutrition Software and Technology: Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, nutrition analysis software, and telehealth platforms to effectively manage client data and track progress.

Base Salary:$40+ per hour

  • Salary based on experience and qualifications
  • Full benefits package

Work Hours:

  • 24-32 hours / week
  • Flexible schedule – Ideally Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday
  • 8AM-4PM / 9AM – 5PM

Additional Notes:

  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
