Job summary

Fort Garry Dental Centre in Winnipeg is seeking a registered Dental Assistant to join our patient-centered team. You will prepare rooms, assist dentists and hygienists, take X-rays, and maintain sterilization and IPAC standards.

Ideal candidates are registered or certified dental assistants with provincial regulation, with prior experience preferred. You will support scheduling and patient care in a modern clinic with a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Must be registered/certified as a Dental Assistant with the provincial regulatory body.
• Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures.
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
• Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
• Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
• Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour.
