About us
The Neurodiversity Family Centre is an inclusive centre which provides neurodiversity affirming counselling support to all individuals, of all ages, with or without a formal diagnosis. When working with children and youth, we focus on a family centered approach and require the participation of at least one caregiver when working with youth of all ages.
We are looking for an ADHD and/or Autism specialist who is a BC Registered Clinical Counselor or Registered Social Worker to join our team long-term and provide counseling services to Neurodivergent children, and their parents.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background and education in working with neurodivergence, including experience working with children and caregivers. Additionally, the candidate must be enthusiastic, flexible, accommodating, knowledgeable and educated on the topic of Neurodiversity and Neurodiversity Affirming Care. Our goal is to find another team member who wants to grow both personally and professionally with our community of independent contractors.
The Clinical Counselor MUST be an independent contractor who operates their own business and is contracted to provide counselling services to the center's clients and they MUST be registered.
Requirements:
- Registered as a Registered Clinical Counsellor or Registered Social Worker
- Self- Proprietorship as this is a contract position
- Holds and pays their own WorkSafe BC Coverage (must be set up prior to onboarding)
- Holds their own personal and business liability insurance
- Completed 2 day training in Ross Greene's CPS Model (If working with youth)
- Completed training in Neurodiversity Affirming Care (this can be done once hired)
- Certifications, or other Professional Development in ADHD and/or Autism
Assets:
- Education and background in another neurodivergence such as OCD, FASD, ODD, etc.
- Self-Identifying as Neurodivergent
Schedule Availability:
Note: Practitioners are required to be available for a MINIMUM of 6 sessions in-person during a 7 hour office shift per week and 6 sessions online from home per week. Practitioners can choose if and when they take their breaks during each shift.
