Registered Clinical Counselor - Lifemark Physiotherapy Kamloops

Location: Hybrid in Kamloops, BC

Position Details:

• 16-20 hours/week (Casual, up to Part Time)
• Compensation models include hourly and Fee for Service

Responsibilities

1. Provide counselling services to clients referred privately, by employers, insurance companies, and third-party organizations, addressing psychosocial problems related to injury, trauma, and mental illness.
2. Adopt goal-focused, therapeutic approaches to alleviate distress and improve social and occupational functioning.
3. Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences to discuss treatment plans, progress, and barriers.
4. Deliver quality reporting and maintain effective communication with stakeholders.

Licensing Requirements

• Master’s degree in Counselling or Clinical Psychology from an accredited university.
• Registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counselors or the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

Experience

• Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience as a Registered Clinical Counsellor.
• Experience in case conceptualization and treatment of mental health symptoms with adult clients.
• Knowledge of grief/loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment issues.
• Knowledge of psychological management of chronic pain and concussion syndromes is an asset.
• Training and experience with cognitive-behavioral therapies (e.g., CBT, ACT, CPT).
• Experience working in multi/interdisciplinary teams.
• Ability to prepare assessment, progress, and discharge reports.
• Hybrid work: In-person presence at the Kamloops clinic preferred on Wednesdays (8 am - 1 pm) at Lifemark Physiotherapy Kamloops, 164 Oriole Rd, Kamloops, BC V2C 4N7.
