Job summary

Comfort Keepers Victoria in Sooke seeks a Registered Care Aide to join our team. You will assist with client care and home support under the health care team’s direction, helping clients with ADLs, meals, mobility, and transportation to appointments.

Your role includes observing changes, reporting them, collaborating with families, and supporting independence. We offer paid training, flexible hours across Greater Victoria, and benefits, with starting pay at $25 per hour.

Are you a strong team player and have a desire to help others? We are looking for a Registered Care Aide to join our team to work in the Sooke area.

As a Caregiver you will make a difference in your clients lives by:

• Assisting in the delivery of client care and home support services under the direction of the health care team
• Assist clients with care, observe, and report significant changes in the client’s presentation
• Collaborate with the health care team, clients, and their caregivers to maximize independence with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs)
• Assist clients with Bathing, showering, dressing, mobility, feeding, toileting
• Assist with household activities including meal prep, shopping for groceries laundry etc
• Motivate, encourage, and involve clients in their care
• Provide input and feedback in the care planning process to the health care team
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients and staff
• Driving client in their vehicle to appointments and outings

Job Requirements:

• Successful graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience with BC Registry Number
• Have or be able to get a criminal record check
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and proficiently both verbally and in writing
• Ability to deal with others effectively and respectfully
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
• Ability to organize work
• Ability to operate related equipment
• Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle is a must!
• First Aid/CPR certificate
