Nsd61 is seeking a Registered Apprentice Plumber/Gas Fitter Student to support HVAC and plumbing maintenance across school facilities in the High Prairie area. You will assist journeymen, perform repairs, and help coordinate vendor services.

Qualifications

• High school student in the High Prairie area.
• Experience or interest in Trades an asset (plumbing, carpentry, electrical).
• Strong interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
• Valid class 5 driver’s license is a requirement.
• Access to personal vehicle is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform maintenance in HVAC systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and related tasks for HVAC and plumbing equipment in school division facilities, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining a safe, clean and orderly environment.
• Assist with projects identified by Manager or Supervisors requiring the services of skilled craftsperson(s).
• Perform various maintenance and repair tasks on buildings and building envelopes.
• Inspect and ensure the safe operation of equipment, making adjustments, calibrations, replacements, rebuilds, and repairs as necessary.
• Assist in obtaining quotes and arranging services from external vendors.
• Monitor maintenance schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
• Work on maintenance related tasks assigned by the Journeyman or Supervisor.
• Perform other assigned job-related duties.
