Today, VanEck offers active and passive strategies with compelling exposures supported by well-designed investment processes, ranging from core investment opportunities to more specialized exposures that enhance portfolio diversification.

VanEck Canada seeks to hire a results-driven Regional Sales Director to build and grow the firm’s presence directly with financial advisors and brokers across the assigned territory. The Regional Sales Director is the primary field-facing representative of VanEck Canada, responsible for proactive advisor outreach, product education, and AUM growth within the retail advisor and dealer channel. This is a foundational distribution role in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment backed by a globally respected investment platform.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Includes the following; other duties may be assigned as needed

  • Proactively sell VanEck Canada’s ETF strategies directly to financial advisors across the assigned territory through in-person meetings, group seminars, roadshows, and virtual engagements
  • Develop and execute a strategic territory business plan to achieve AUM growth, net sales targets, and advisor penetration goals
  • Build and maintain a high-quality book of advisor relationships at CIRO-registered dealer firms, independent dealer networks, and advisory channels within the assigned territory
  • Identify, prioritize, and systematically cultivate high-opportunity advisor segments; manage pipeline and outreach activity through CRM tools
  • Profile advisor practices to uncover investment needs and recommend appropriate VanEck ETF solutions across multiple strategies and asset classes
  • Effectively manage territory rotation, budget, and activity tracking to maximize coverage and efficiency
  • Partner with the National Accounts team to align field-level advisor engagement with broader dealer firm strategies and initiatives
  • Deliver timely, relevant product insights and market commentary to advisor clients, drawing on internal investment, marketing, and product resources
  • Provide structured field intelligence to leadership on advisor sentiment, competitive activity, and territory trends
  • Participate in industry conferences, dealer branch events, and advisor education forums to promote VanEck Canada’s brand and product suite
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all client interactions, pipeline activity, and territory metrics in the firm’s CRM system
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and accountability, while fostering a collaborative, team-oriented approach
Experience/Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a driven and successful ETF or mutual fund sales professional with a strong book of advisor relationships across the assigned territory. They bring a demonstrated track record of territory sales growth, a deep understanding of the Canadian retail advisor landscape, and the ability to position differentiated, thematic investment products with confidence and credibility. A strong work ethic, personal drive, and ownership mentality are essential.

We may also consider candidates from related distribution or advisory backgrounds who can demonstrate significant market knowledge, relationship-building skills, and a drive to build something new.

  • Education: BA/BS degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant external sales experience in the Canadian market; minimum 8 years of total industry experience; experience in the advisor/dealer channel preferred
  • Demonstrated record of territory sales success and consistent achievement of net sales goals
  • Strong knowledge of ETFs, mutual funds, and the Canadian retail investment landscape
  • In-depth understanding of ETF structures, financial concepts, product knowledge, investment management, and client-service strategies
  • Consultative selling skills; ability to profile advisors and uncover investment needs to recommend appropriate solutions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to translate complex investment ideas clearly for advisor audiences
  • Proficient time and territory management skills; detail oriented and well organized
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce or equivalent) and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory
