Description

The Regional Sales Director’s responsibilities include conducting face-to-face meetings with distributor principles and their management teams, as well as their customers, new dealers, and sales teams to promote company products and services. The role involves approving distributor pricing rebates and program requests, resolving market conflicts between Goodman distribution channels in shared territories, and growing overall market share. The director will also travel to attend trade shows, open houses, and other promotional events. The primary goal is to grow the region exponentially through consultation and education of distributor principles, senior staff, marketing, and sales teams, providing support to help distribution reach their plan goals.

May include:

  • Conducting face-to-face meetings with customers, new dealers, and sales teams to promote products and services, building strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Traveling to trade shows, open houses, and promotional events.
  • Liaising between distributors and Goodman, communicating with departments to resolve concerns and exceed customer expectations. Conducting distributor visits as required.
  • Assisting in planning and forecasting.
  • Working with distributor principals to establish expansion criteria and potential locations.
  • Conducting training sessions and scheduling courses for clients.
  • Managing accounts within the assigned territory.
  • Creating sales plans for target accounts, key projects, and distributor planning, including joint calls with customers, new dealers, and sales teams.
  • Providing reporting and maintaining up-to-date information on net price management, renewals, project tracking, and lead generation.
  • Developing, implementing, tracking, and reporting on regional sales growth plans based on programs, target opportunities, and distribution planning.
  • Managing pricing strategies, understanding market dynamics, and collecting competitive price sheets regularly.
  • Tracking distributor calls and issues in CRM systems.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Strong sales skills with broad knowledge of sales forecasting and call planning, familiar with different sales cycles between the company, distributors, dealers, and consumers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding consultative selling and interpersonal skills.
  • Product knowledge and HVAC industry familiarity are strong assets.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), databases, CRM, etc.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, including prioritization.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Knowledge of B2B and B2C marketing, with understanding of messaging, tools, resources, and customization timing.
  • Understanding of sales force management trends, with ability to train and coach sales teams.
  • Ability to influence, judge well, and coach accounts.
  • Minimum of 5 years of strong P&L experience, with financial planning and analysis skills.
  • Understanding of ordering, transportation, and logistics processes.

Experience

  • At least 8 years of sales experience, preferably within the HVAC industry.
