Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Projects and Initiatives, Environmental Services (EVS), Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), the EVS Regional Manager, Quality and Initiatives, is a critical role within the department, dedicated to supporting regional projects, enhancing service quality, and fostering continuous improvement. This position also provides site-specific support across various locations, ensuring EVS operations align with organizational standards, healthcare regulations, and best practices. The Regional Manager, works collaboratively with partners and teams to drive positive outcomes and contribute to the organization's commitment to “cleaning and disinfection that inspires confidence”. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of EVS operations by driving impactful regional initiatives and projects, ensuring quality, and fostering continuous improvement across Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) sites.

As a Regional Manager, Quality and Initiatives, Environmental Services with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

Regional Projects:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of regional EVS projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Conduct assessments to determine project feasibility and recommend innovative solutions to enhance EVS operations.
  • Collaborate with teams across multiple sites to ensure consistent implementation of project initiatives.
  • Monitor project progress, address challenges, and report results to the Manager, Projects and Initiatives.

Quality Management:

  • Evaluate EVS operations to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational quality standards.
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement monitoring systems to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct targeted inspections to uphold service quality and address gaps proactively.
  • Provide training and guidance to EVS teams on maintaining high standards of service delivery.

Document Control Management:

  • Support the management of document control protocols for EVS procedures, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and version control.
  • Maintain up-to-date records for policies, protocols, and compliance reports specific to EVS operations.
  • Provide training to staff on document management practices to ensure adherence to healthcare standards.

Regulatory Compliance Management:

  • Ensure EVS operations comply with all applicable healthcare regulations, including infection control guidelines and accreditation standards.
  • Support the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during compliance audits and reporting.
  • Support the reviews of EVS practices to identify and address gaps in compliance.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business, Environmental Services, or a related field, supplemented with experience in project management, quality assurance/ measurement, and/or operations within a healthcare or facilities management environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Demonstrated understanding of healthcare regulations, infection prevention guidelines, and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in process improvement tools and methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams across multiple locations.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and indigenous lens.
  • Practices the recognition, inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
