Position Posting: Safety Advisor – Live Events, Motion Picture & Performing Arts Industry

Do you have 2+ years of experience improving safety within BC's live events, motion picture and/or performing arts industry? Do you consider yourself to have generalist knowledge of BC's health and safety regulations and best practices for reducing workplace injuries, diseases and fatalities? Do you excel in consulting and mentoring, delivering engaging presentations, collaborating on multi-agency committees, and leading strategic initiatives?
Actsafe Safety Association has a mission of preventing workplace injuries, illness and deaths in BC's arts and entertainment industry, is halfway through a five-year strategic plan (2023–2027) and is expanding the team. We are recruiting for a vital role of Safety Advisor charged with ensuring our programs and services are world-class, industry-specific, and improve the health, safety, and wellbeing knowledge, attitudes, beliefs and behaviours of both employers and workers.

The ideal candidate would also have post-secondary education in occupational health and safety (at least a certificate, but diploma preferred), and at least 2 years of practical OHS experience in the BC arts & entertainment industry.
