Inland Truck & Equipment in Kamloops, BC, is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to assist the Accounting Manager with daily, monthly, quarterly, and year-end activities at head office accounting. This role offers a pathway to growth within a North American network.

The position requires a post-secondary accounting credential and at least two years of related experience, strong communication skills, teamwork ability, and meticulous work habits.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting is required.
• Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently, with little supervision and within a team environment.
• Able to use previous experience and technical knowledge to analyze an issue.
• Ability to communicate clearly, consistently and openly.
• Strong time management, planning, and organizing skills.
• Detailed-oriented
• Develop and maintain relationships with various departments.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, reviews, analyzes and distributes monthly financial statements for operating branches, including the reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts.
• Prepares bank reconciliations and investigates outstanding items.
• Reconciles and maintains fixed assets.
• Prepares sales tax remittances and returns (US and Canadian).
• Analyzes parts inventory semi-annually.
• Prepares year end files, account analyses and supporting documentation for external auditors.
• Assists with various ad hoc projects and tasks as required.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Intermediate Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Accounting Manager in the day-to-day, monthly, quarterly, and year end activities of the Head Office Accounting Department.

SALARY

• The Salary for this role is $65,000-$75,000 depending on experience.
