Job summary

Dematic is hiring a Regional Resident Maintenance Technician to service and repair Dematic systems in the Montreal area, under the Senior Field Service Manager. You will also provide maintenance training to customers and colleagues.

The role requires interaction with teams across Quebec and beyond, in a bilingual work environment where English is often used. Local travel may be up to 20%, and final compensation will reflect location, education, and experience.

Qualifications

• Four years (minimum) experience in resolving problems related to electromechanical and/or mechanical equipment.
• Experience with material handling equipment.
• Knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley and Siemens).
• Software knowledge in languages such as Java, Python, SQL.
• Able to travel locally up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Write concise, clear, and complete reports in the time frame required according to Dematic procedures.
• Heavy responsibility for maintaining customer goodwill toward Dematic
• Ensure that Dematic systems have the greatest availability possible for Customer use and to ensure that Customers are satisfied with their Dematic system and equipment
• Scheduled maintenance.
• Corrective maintenance.
• Scheduled repairs.
• Performs emergency repairs.
• Practicing safe work habits and abiding by safety rules in accordance with customer and Dematic policies.
• Logging all service work performed, recording downtime during repair and accounting for equipment service requests.
• Skills include a balance of Electronics, Electrical and Mechanical skills with an emphasis on Controls.
• Local travel up to 20%.
