Job summary

Black Duck Software, Inc. is seeking a Regional Field Chief Technology Officer to serve as a senior technical executive, trusted advisor, and public voice of our technology strategy in the market.

The Regional CTO will engage directly with C-level and technical leaders at strategic customer accounts, translating our AI-driven platform capabilities into credible technical narratives, and representing the company as a thought leader across the industry.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in a senior technical leadership role, including customer-facing or field/pre-sales.
• Proven track record with C-level and senior technical audiences.
• Domain expertise in application security (SAST, SCA, DAST) and enterprise architecture.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML in security and responsible adoption practices.
• Demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership and strategic customers.
• Travel up to 50% to customer sites and industry events.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/Cybersecurity or related field; MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted technical advisor for strategic accounts, bridging business strategy, risk, and architecture.
• Lead high-visibility technical engagements across the region, including executive briefings and architecture reviews.
• Represent Black Duck as a technical evangelist through keynotes, webinars, and thought leadership content.
• Translate AI/ML and platform capabilities into credible narratives for technical and executive audiences.
• Collaborate with Sales on strategic opportunities and advise on product roadmap and launches.
