Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
Executive Hotels & Resorts seeks a Regional Director of Operations to lead a portfolio of distinctive hotels. You will work closely with General Managers, corporate leadership and ownership to elevate performance and guest experience, while spending meaningful time in properties.
The role requires senior hotel leadership, about 10+ years, strong P&L and budgeting knowledge, and the ability to coach General Managers.
Salary: $150,000–$175,000 per year, commensurate with experience
Some hotel careers are about managing a property. This opportunity is about helping shape a portfolio.
Executive Hotels & Resorts is seeking an accomplished Regional Director of Operations to join our senior leadership team and provide operational leadership across a collection of distinctive hotels and resorts.
For more than four decades, Executive Hotels & Resorts has built, owned and operated hotels with a distinctly entrepreneurial approach to hospitality. As a privately owned Canadian hotel group, we combine the resources and experience of an established organization with the accessibility, speed and independence of an owner-operated company.
Our hotels are individual properties with their own character, markets and opportunities. We believe exceptional hospitality comes from leaders who understand their guests, know their teams and are empowered to make things better.
As Regional Director of Operations, you will work closely with hotel General Managers, corporate leadership and ownership to elevate operating performance across the Executive Hotels & Resorts portfolio.
This is not a corporate role managed from behind a desk. You will spend meaningful time in our hotels, working alongside property leadership teams, understanding each operation and helping our General Managers achieve stronger results. You will be a coach, problem solver, operator and business partner.
Your mandate extends beyond financial performance. You will help us continually improve the guest experience, service culture, property presentation, operational standards, profitability and leadership strength of our hotels.
Food and beverage is an important part of the identity, guest experience and commercial performance of many Executive hotels.
You are first and foremost a hotelier. You understand the rhythm of a hotel because you have lived it. You know what an excellent lobby feels like at 8:00 a.m., what a restaurant should look like before dinner service, what an effective morning meeting sounds like and what guests notice when standards begin to slip.
At the same time, you understand the business behind hospitality. You can read a P&L, challenge a forecast, understand labour productivity and have a commercially intelligent conversation with a General Manager, restaurant operator, CFO or owner.
You are equally comfortable discussing service standards with a Front Office Manager, walking guestrooms with an Executive Housekeeper, reviewing restaurant performance with an F&B leader or discussing the annual business plan with ownership.
Executive Hotels & Resorts is not a large institutional hotel company where decisions pass through layers of corporate approval. We are a privately owned organization with more than four decades of experience in hospitality, real estate and development. Our senior executives and ownership remain actively engaged in the business.
You will have access. You will have influence. And you will be expected to make a difference.
Good ideas can move quickly. Strong performance is noticed. And talented leaders have the opportunity to expand their responsibilities as the organization grows.
Because we own and operate many of our properties, we think beyond the next quarter. Decisions about people, capital investment, renovations, restaurants and guest experience are made with a long‑term ownership perspective. We want our Regional Director of Operations to bring that same mindset.
We believe the best hospitality leaders still love hotels. They notice when the flowers aren’t right. They notice when the arrival experience could be warmer. They understand why a restaurant isn’t performing to its potential. They know when a General Manager needs support – and when a General Manager needs to be challenged.
They also understand that a great hotel and a great restaurant should strengthen one another. Whether the restaurant is operated by Executive Table Group or an independent third-party partner, the guest should experience one coordinated standard of hospitality.
If that describes the way you approach hotels, we would like to meet you.
For more than 40 years, Executive Hotels & Resorts has developed, owned and operated distinctive hotels and resorts in Canada and the United States. As part of the privately held Executive Group, our hospitality portfolio benefits from an integrated approach encompassing hotel operations, restaurant operations through Executive Table Group, real estate development, construction and asset ownership.
Deliver exceptional hospitality. Empower great people to lead them.
