Job summary

Archway seeks a Settlement Worker and Employment Specialist (Farsi/Dari) for Abbotsford and Langley locations. This part‑time, on‑site role involves delivering settlement services, connecting clients with labour market information, and promoting the program to employers.

You will conduct workshops, assist with housing and benefits applications, and provide career planning, resume help, and interview coaching to refugee claimants. Bilingual Dari/Farsi required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Social Services, Human Resources, Marketing, Business, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of refugee claim process and claimant experience is an asset.
• Experience in networking/outreach is an asset.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Fluency in Dari/Farsi is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide settlement and employment services to refugee claimants in Langley and Abbotsford, including referrals to supports.
• Liaise with community partners for wrap-around supports and referrals.
• Deliver information sessions and workshops on topics like health care, the refugee claim system, banking, job market, resume writing, safety, and workplace norms.
• Assist with housing applications and non-immigration service paperwork.
• Organize networking events to connect clients with local resources.
• Offer customized employment counselling in person or remote, including job search and interview skills.
• Deliver pre-employment training and Employment Readiness sessions.
