Job summary

Atlantic Equipment Services, a division of Heritage Food Service Group of Canada, is Atlantic Canada's largest factory-authorized Parts and Service Centre for the Food Service Industry. We are hiring Refrigeration Technicians to service commercial kitchen equipment and walk-in units in the Halifax area.

Qualifications

  • Valid Refrigeration and A/C CofQ license required.
  • Ozone Depleting Substances Certificate required.
  • Experience as a refrigeration technician preferred.
  • Must be able to travel to other locations or training.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain refrigeration equipment including display cases and walk-ins.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers daily.
  • Work overtime and participate in on-call rotation.
  • Travel to other locations as needed or for training.
  • Support long-term downtime reduction and service excellence.

A Day In The Life

Our qualified Refrigeration Journeymen repair and maintain refrigeration equipment. Typical refrigeration equipment includes display cases, walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, chillers, and ice machines. If you can service hot as well as cold commercial food equipment that is a bonus! Typical cooking equipment (gas, steam, and electric) examples: dishwashing equipment, ranges, fryers, steamers, and combi-ovens and more. If you are not currently certified, we will support your future training and educational goals. Your role will use your industry knowledge to service complex equipment, while providing exceptional customer service to our customers - you get to be the HERO every day!

Please note that this is an active opening in the Halifax Area that needs to be filled immediately to support our rapid growth.

What You Bring
  • Valid Refrigeration and A/C Mechanic CofQ License
  • Ozone Depleting Substances Certificate
  • Education in appliance service, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience as a refrigeration technician.
  • Experience diagnosing and trouble-shooting commercial food equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Valid driver's license with a relatively clean driving record.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, accountable and self-driven.
  • Must be available to work overtime and participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Able to occasionally travel to work at other locations as needed, or travel for training purposes.
