In this essential frontline role you’ll be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, setting the tone for their health care experience and ensuring smooth administrative and communication processes.
As a Referral Clerk you will coordinate and process patient referrals by gathering and entering clinical and demographic information into the electronic health record. You will schedule appointments based on triage instructions and clinical urgency and communicate with patients to confirm details and provide necessary information. You will support physicians by preparing documentation, initiating requisitions, and organizing referrals for review. You will also perform pre-registration tasks, assist patients with forms, and arrange for additional services such as interpreters or mobility support. Additional duties include maintaining statistical records, participating in quality improvement activities, and providing general clerical support.
