Job summary

McMan is seeking a Full-Time Permanent Referral and Navigation Worker for the Red Deer Family Resource Network. The role supports Alberta families with children zero to 18 and youth up to 24, providing evidence-based services including development, well-being support, caregiver capacity building, and social connections.

Minimum qualifications include a human services diploma, 1 year frontline experience, First Aid/CPR, and a valid Class 5 license; travel is required within Red Deer.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in human services from an approved institution is required.
• 1 year of frontline human services or community navigation experience preferred.
• Membership in professional association where applicable.
• Experience in community connections and system navigation.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• First Aid Level C with CPR & AED; valid driver's license and reliable vehicle when needed.
• Criminal background check for the vulnerable sector.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough intake, screening, and assessment duties.
• Support children, youth, and families in accessing resources across networks.
• Monitor and document client progress with accurate case notes.
• Collaborate with community partners; attend interagency meetings.
• Oversee website administration and social media communications.
• Promote visibility and accessibility in rural and remote communities.

Our Family Resource Network located in Red Deer is seeking a:

Full-Time Permanent Referral and Navigation Worker

The FRN (Family Resource Network) is funded through the Childcare and Early Intervention Delivery Branch of The Ministry of Children and Family Services and has been created to provide Alberta families, with children aged 0-18 and youth up to age 24 with evidence based and informed services. The services offered by the FRN will include child development, well-being support, caregiver capacity building support, and social connections and support.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

• At minimum a post secondary diploma related to human services from an approved institution


• Required 1-year of frontline human services work or community navigation work


• Proof of Membership in Professional Association (when applicable)


• Experience in community connection and system navigation


• Strong communication and organizational skills


• Basic First Aid Level C with Adult, Child, and infant CPR &AED


• Intervention Record & Criminal Record Check with the vulnerable sector


• Class 5 driver’s license, clean drivers abstract and reliable vehicle for occasional client transportation required.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform thorough intake, screening, and assessment duties


• Proactively support children, youth, and families in accessing appropriate resources across community networks


• Monitor and document client progress and maintain accurate case notes


• Collaborate with community partners through regular attendance at interagency and other community meetings


• Oversee website administration and social media communications


• Promote visibility, accessibility, and responsiveness in rural and remote communities

Wage: $23.46/hr. - $27.42/hr. Plus, Travel reimbursed at $0.57/KM.
