STRIVE is helping a client in the Surrey area hire a Shop Heavy Duty Mechanic for a daytime, on-site role. Expect 7:00–8:00 AM start times, Monday to Friday with occasional overtime for on-call emergencies and no weekend work.

Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification is preferred, with experience in hydraulic systems, cranes, lifts, and mobile equipment. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment per OEM specs, use CMMS for maintenance planning, and uphold safety and quality standards

Formación

• Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification is required.
• Minimum 3+ years in heavy-duty mechanics handling cranes, lifts, and mobile equipment.
• Welding and electrical knowledge is a strong asset and beneficial.

The Role

Our client in the heavy-duty space is looking for a Shop Heavy Duty Mechanic in a non-unionized environment in Surrey. This role is a daytime position with a starting time at 7 AM or 8 AM, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime for any on-call emergencies and no weekend work. Preference is given to those holding a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic ticket and experienced in performing assembly, disassembly, and repair of hydraulic components, cranes, lifts, and additional mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment in accordance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications.
• Diagnose equipment by locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Ensure proper operation of equipment through checks and tests. Replace or repair defective parts in equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production breakdowns.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Interpret technical manuals to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and warranty requirements.
• Execute routine scheduled Planned Maintenance (PM) services, appraisals, and Safety Inspections.
• Use of computerized maintenance management software (CMMS). Developing maintenance schedules for major and minor equipment as well as facility needs (PM’s)
• Maintain client relationships with professional interactions during client drop-bys at the shop.

Requirements

• Comfortable working fully on-site.
• Red Seal certification in Heavy Duty Mechanic.
• 3+ years of experience in a heavy-duty mechanic space, performing repairs on cranes, lifts, skid steers, hydraulic systems, engines, and mobile equipment. Welding and electrical knowledge is a strong asset.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with the technician team and fill out worksheets.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, allowing for efficient identification and resolution of equipment issues.
• Ability to work as part of a team and also be proactive and work on one's own initiative.
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Time management and priority management skills.
• Has own tools.

Compensation

• $40 to $45 depending on experience.
