SiteTalent is partnering with a well‑established equipment rental company in BC's Lower Mainland to hire an experienced Heavy Duty Equipment Technician. You’ll work hands‑on in the shop, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing heavy‑duty equipment to ensure every unit goes out safe, reliable, and job‑ready.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Heavy‑Duty Equipment Mechanic.
  • Ability to diagnose, repair and service heavy‑duty equipment.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic diagnostic skills.
  • Read and interpret manuals, schematics and service docs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical repairs on heavy‑duty equipment in the shop.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot defects in heavy‑duty machinery.
  • Perform electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Repair and adjust hydraulic pumps, safety switches, engines and other components.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and safety.
  • Respond to road calls and on‑site service requests when required.
  • Maintain maintenance reports and service records.

SiteTalent is partnering with a well-established equipment rental company in BC's Lower Mainland to find an experienced Heavy Duty Equipment Technician. This company operates a large fleet of high-reach and heavy equipment and has built a strong reputation for quality service and safety across Western Canada.

You’ll work hands‑on in the shop, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing heavy‑duty equipment to ensure every unit goes out safe, reliable, and job‑ready. This role also includes responding to field service calls when needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform mechanical repairs on heavy‑duty equipment in the shop
  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot defects in heavy‑duty machinery
  • Perform electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Repair and adjust hydraulic pumps, safety switches, engines, and other mechanical components
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and safety
  • Inspect, repair, and adjust gasoline and diesel-powered equipment
  • Install and align engines and machinery
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other preventative maintenance tasks
  • Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance reports, service records, and documentation
  • Respond to road calls and on‑site service requests when required
  • Work cooperatively with team members to provide seamless service to internal and external customers
  • Maintain knowledge of new technologies, repair techniques, and industry best practices
  • Follow workplace safety policies and regulations
Qualifications:
  • Relevant experience as a Heavy‑Duty Equipment Mechanic
  • Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic certification or equivalent experience preferred
  • Proven experience repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting heavy‑duty equipment
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic diagnostic skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • Self‑motivated and able to work independently
  • Team‑oriented with strong communication skills
  • Committed to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
  • Safety‑conscious and proactive in identifying potential hazards
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record
