Job summary

OPENLANE is seeking a Red Seal Automotive Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain customer or company vehicles in a fast-paced shop environment in Canada. You will mentor apprentices and ensure safety standards and procedures are followed while delivering quality workmanship.

The role may require weekend shifts and flexibility to support auction vehicle maintenance and inspections. Prior dealership experience and strong diagnostic skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Red Seal certification or Ontario 310S required.
• Experience repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Dealership experience preferred.
• Experience with OEM diagnostics.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic computer skills and smartphone use.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repair and maintenance including brakes, exhaust, alignments, and suspension inspections.
• Conduct oil changes, tire changes, fluid checks, and safety procedures.
• Carry out frame inspections and pre/post-sale inspections.
• Complete safety checklists and diagnose powertrain issues.
• Assist apprentices and mentor junior technicians.
• Assist with sourcing parts, quotes, and work orders.
