Base pay range

CA$80,000.00 / yr - CA$110,000.00 / yr

We are recruiting for an experienced Recruitment Team Lead to join our growing Human Resources team. This role will be based at our Burnaby Corporate Head Office in BC.

This is an on-site position.

Job Overview :

The Recruitment Team Lead is responsible for leading a professional and high-quality talent acquisition service, overseeing the full cycle of recruitment activities. This role includes managing job requisition creation, developing job posting and candidate sourcing strategies, applicant management, resume screening, short-listing, and assessing candidates alongside hiring managers. The Team Lead will also play a pivotal role in preparing and presenting employment agreements and ensuring a smooth onboarding process for new hires.

In addition to managing daily recruitment functions, the Recruitment Team Lead will drive continuous improvement initiatives within the recruitment process, including the optimization of our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and data reporting. This position requires a strong focus on best practices to identify and secure top talent while ensuring accuracy and compliance in all HR-related work.

Responsibilities and Duties :

  • Collaborate closely with the Recruitment Leaders to coordinate and manage the recruitment process, including job ad creation, monitoring, and applicant screening.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Recruitment Advisors and Coordinators to ensure consistency in processes and foster a culture of continuous improvement in recruitment practices.
  • Provide strategic counsel to hiring managers, helping them develop tailored recruitment strategies to meet their specific needs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external partners (e.g., job boards, universities, colleges, etc.) to maintain effective relationships and ensure responsive partnerships.
  • Work collaboratively with HR and Payroll teams on recruitment and onboarding efforts.
  • Leverage social media platforms (e.g., Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.) to identify and engage potential candidates.
  • Prepare interview questions and other selection materials in conjunction with hiring managers.
  • Continuously update job posting templates and ads to align with evolving business needs.
  • Propose and implement innovative ideas to enhance recruitment processes and improve candidate experience, including exploring alternative recruitment platforms and headhunting for hard-to-fill roles.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies throughout the recruitment process.
  • Oversee the preparation of employment agreements (offer letters) and facilitate new hire onboarding.
  • Conduct regular recruitment reports to assess current hiring needs and identify future trends and present to management
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by leadership.

Education, Credentials, Qualifications :

  • Over 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume recruitment role within a fast-paced healthcare or dental environment is a plus
  • 3-5 years of experience leading a recruitment team in a large organization is required.
  • Undergraduate Degree / Diploma in Human Resources, Commerce, or a related field preferred; CPHR designation or progress towards it is desirable.

  • 3-5 years of experience in leading teams through significant change or transformation in a recruitment setting.
  • A proven track record of scaling recruitment efforts to meet business growth and evolving hiring needs.
  • Strong background in mentoring and coaching recruitment professionals to improve team performance.
  • In-depth knowledge of recruiting and sourcing techniques to attract top talent.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with HR-related systems and tools, such as ATS, HRIS (e.g., ADP).
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize duties, multi-task, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong decision-making abilities and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all recruitment processes.
  • A customer service-oriented mindset, with sensitivity to the hiring needs of Regional Leaders, while understanding the importance of diplomacy and confidentiality.
  • Advanced proficiency in HR technology.
