The Role
Reporting to the VP – HR, the Recruitment Lead will drive end to end recruitment across all NWTC locations. The role combines strategic planning and hands-on delivery, requiring deep sourcing expertise, excellent relationship management skills, and the ability to navigate complex talent markets.
Overview of responsibilities
Recruitment Process – 70% of your time is spent here
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand and shape the talent attraction strategy based on workforce requirements, job specifications and business needs.
- Design and deliver annual staffing plans in partnership with hiring managers to ensure recruitment efforts align seamlessly with business needs.
- Source skilled candidates through diverse channels, screen their qualifications, and conduct in-depth interviews to ensure a perfect match with business requirements.
- Establish and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for critical roles, ensuring readiness to meet future hiring demands, especially in high-turnover or remote regions.
- Leverage local networks, digital channels, and partnerships to promote the company’s value proposition in regions with limited candidate pools.
- Maintain adherence to legal and ethical hiring standards across all geographies, while continuously refining recruitment processes for effectiveness and inclusivity.
Campus Recruitment- 10% of your time is spent here
- Develop strong relationships with trade schools, apprentice programs, and industry associations to access emerging talent, while designing and delivering impactful branding initiatives, recruitment events, and presentations.
Reporting, Analytics & Recruitment Technology – 10% of your time is spent here
- Analyse recruitment data, report on areas for improvement, optimize the process with the goal to enhance overall recruitment outcomes.
Personal and Professional Development – 10% of your time is spent here
- Invest time and stay up to date with latest labour market trends, attending seminars, best practice courses, and other training regularly.
- Other duties and project opportunities will arise.
Education
- Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Communications, Sales, Business Administration or other relevant post secondary education
- A combination of education and experience will be considered.
Experience
- 5+ years as an inhouse recruiter for trades, industrial or manufacturing
- Solid grasp and love of technology. Using ATS, job boards, social media and other recruitment tools.
- Great track record of leveraging technology to streamline processes, enhance efficiency and expand candidate reach.
- A good foundational understanding of the intricacies of our industry, its job roles, technical requirements and market trends.
- Adept at building long term relationships
- Proven ability to effectively source and assess candidates with the right skills and qualifications
