Job summary

Carewest Innovative Health Care in Calgary, AB is seeking a Regular Full Time Recreation Therapy Assistant to support residents' daily living and well-being. Under supervision, you will assist with ADLs, lead craft activities, and help coordinate social events.

In this role, collaboration with an interdisciplinary team is essential. CPR certification is required, and related experience in geriatrics or long-term care is an asset for delivering compassionate, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from Grade 12.
• Current and active Basic Life Support Provider CPR is required.
• PCA, Certificate in leisure activities or equivalent.
• Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Related experience in a hospital or continuing care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine client care support activities to optimize residents' functional abilities.
• Assists with Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
• Instructs craft classes and leads social events, group exercises and games.
• Responsible for other related duties as required.
