AgeCare Ltd. is seeking a Recreation Therapy Aide to support residents with planned and spontaneous recreational activities.

This role focuses on promoting engagement, independence, and well-being, helping to build skills and social connections within a supportive care environment. The position requires either a diploma/degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies or related field, or active enrollment with expected completion within three years.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field.
• Currently enrolled in a related program with completion expected within three years of hire.
• Experience delivering recreation services in healthcare/long-term care is an asset.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic care environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate departmental records and complete all required documentation, including assessments and monthly calendars.
• Participate in evaluating the recreation program and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure recreation supplies, equipment, and resources are maintained in good working condition per infection prevention standards and report deficiencies.
• Work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
• May involve travel within the province for education, training, and meetings.
