Job summary

AgeCare in Calgary is seeking a Recreation Therapy Aide to support planned and spontaneous activities that promote residents’ engagement, independence and well‑being, helping them build skills, relationships and social connections in a compassionate care environment.

You will maintain accurate records, contribute to program evaluation, ensure supplies meet infection control standards, and work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary credential in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field.
• Current enrollment in a post-secondary program with expected completion within three years.
• Experience in healthcare/long-term care recreation is an asset.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a care environment.
• Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check within six months, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely records and required documentation.
• Participate in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure recreation supplies and equipment are well maintained and report deficiencies.
• Work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Travel within the province for education, training, and meetings as required.
