Job summary

Schlegel Villages in Guelph, Ontario is seeking two Recreation Team Members to join the Village of Arbour Trails. This part-time role offers unscheduled hours and is on-site, with a starting rate of $19.78 per hour under the collective agreement.

Successful candidates must complete a TB screening before starting. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, facilitate group activities, document resident engagement, and support a resident-centered social culture.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology is preferred.
• Experience facilitating group activities and documenting participant engagement.

Responsibilities

Description

The Village of Arbour Trails has an exciting opportunity for two Recreation Team Membersto join their team.

The hiring rate for this role is $ 19.78 per collective agreement/employee association agreement.

Successful candidates will be required to provide an acceptable Tuberculosis (TB) screening test before starting.

As a new Recreation Team Member you will:

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support a holistic recreational program
• Experience facilitating group activities and programs
• Proficiency documenting residents’ participation, engagement and holistic wellbeing in programs and 1:1 activities
• Have exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team
• Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of customer service to our residents
• Work every other weekend
• Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members

As a new Recreation Team Member joining our Village Team it would be an ASSET but not required for you to having the following:

• Hold a diploma or degree recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university
• Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
• Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident’s well-being and holistic health
