Job summary

The University of Alberta is seeking a Recreation Facility Operator I to manage daily operations at Saville Community Sports Centre, Foote Field and Saville Tennis Centre, including ice, courts and fields, and to ensure safe, clean conditions for all users.

You will supervise casual staff, coordinate event setup, monitor facility access, and report hazards. This in-person role requires flexibility across early mornings, evenings and weekends to support a wide range of recreational activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in operating recreation facilities or similar settings.
• Ability to supervise casual staff and coordinate shifts.
• Focus on safety, cleanliness and client service.

Responsibilities

• Daily operation of Saville Community Sports Centre, Foote Field and Saville Tennis Centre (ice, tennis courts, fields).
• Monitor safety and cleanliness during routine facility inspections.
• Coordinate event setup and takedown; open/close procedures.
• Liaise with event supervisors and monitor facility access; lead on duty shifts when required.
