Job summary

The City of Red Deer Municipal Government is seeking a Facility Operations Assistant to maintain recreation facilities and support user safety with strong customer service. This casual role focuses on cleanliness, safety, reporting issues, and everyday operations in our facilities.

Ideal candidates have a Grade 10 education, six months related experience, and an Intermediate First Aid certification. You must pass a Criminal Records Check and be available for weekends, evenings, and variable

Qualifications

Grade 10 or equivalent education.
Six months related experience, preferably in a recreation environment.
Certification in Intermediate First aid.
Criminal Records Check (completed by The City upon employment).
Able to work weekends, weekdays, evenings and shift work hours.
Experience with the requirements of various sporting and other activities in facilities.
Excellent written and spoken English communication with staff, users, and public.

Responsibilities

Facility Operation & Maintenance – maintain facilities and surrounding areas to high cleanliness and operational standards; inspect and report issues; operate cleaning equipment; maintain records.
Communication & Customer Service – monitor schedules, document changes, and assist users professionally.
Risk Management, Safety & Security – monitor activities for safety; address behavior; participate in emergency responses and incident reporting.
