As the Recreation Assistant, you will conduct therapeutic and recreational activities to meet the diverse needs of residents, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you work collaboratively to implement a person-centered Wellness Model of Care that promotes health, wellness, and a safe, empowering environment for residents.

About The Role

You’ll assist with mealtimes, resident care, and provide direction to volunteers. By creatively supporting residents’ physical, mental, and emotional needs, you contribute to their autonomy, dignity, and quality of life.

You will also document residents' progress, support health and safety by following infection control procedures, and continue your professional development. Through your dedication, you help cultivate an empowering community for everyone involved.

  3. Current Food Safe Certificate
  4. Current First Aid Certificate
  5. At least 1 year of experience in implementing recreation programs in residential care
  6. A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered, such as a Registered Care Aide certificate with an additional activity aide certificate.
  7. Class 4 License (is an asset)

About You

With strong interpersonal skills and a creative approach, you tailor activities to meet residents’ unique needs, supporting their dignity and autonomy. Tech-savvy and organized, you document progress, maintain safety, and contribute to a supportive, vibrant community.

Above all, you are driven by a deep desire to serve others and contribute to a positive, supportive environment for residents.
