• Graduate from a recognized Activity/Recreation Certificate or diploma program.
• Experience in a senior-focused recreation department is an asset.

What does a Recreation Aide do?

• Implements recreation programs which include activities such as outings, parties, exercises, crafts, and entertainment.
• Organizes resident activities and trips outside the facility, ensuring residents have proper clothing and equipment, coordinating with staff, and teaching activity techniques.
• Consults with family and nursing staff to determine suitable activities for residents.
• Designs a variety of recreation programs tailored to resident needs.
• Monitors and evaluates resident progress, reporting observations to nursing staff.
• Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies, reporting malfunctions or needs.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from a recognized Activity/Recreation Certificate or diploma program.
• Experience in a senior-focused recreation department is an asset.
• Current Health Care Provider level First Aid Certificate.
• Proof of COVID vaccination.

About us:

Point Grey Private Hospital is located in Vancouver’s ocean-side community of Kitsilano.

Expanded and improved in 2020, it offers 153 licensed residential care beds, mainly in single occupancy rooms. The facility features views of mountains and ocean, large windows, and homelike furnishings across four stories, with dining and recreation areas, and outdoor patios. Its location and interior design provide a comfortable, homelike environment.

Point Grey Private Hospital collaborates with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority to offer funded beds and also provides five private pay rooms.
