Job summary

Revera Inc. is seeking a part-time Recreation Aide for McKenzie Towne Retirement in Calgary. You will assist in planning, organizing and running engaging programs for residents, under the supervision of the Active Living Manager and Executive Director.

You’ll support daily activities, outings and meal services while maintaining records and communication with families. The role requires a college diploma in Recreation or related field, experience with seniors, and a current Vulnerable Sector

Qualifications

• College diploma as required.
• Experience with seniors preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly.
• Valid provincial driver’s license to transport residents by van (Class 4, Class F).
• Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing and implementing meaningful programs for residents with the Active Living Manager & Executive Director.
• Maintain department records including assessments and evaluations of planned programs.
• Maintain effective communication with residents, families, volunteers and staff.
• Attend in-service education to stay informed about elder care trends.
• Participate in team meetings to plan programs reflecting residents' interests.
• Facilitate residents’ scheduled and pre-arranged outings.
• Assist with assessment of individual resident activity levels.
• Prepare, carry out and evaluate daily activities.
• Assist with meal services as required.
• Uphold the organization’s values, ethics, morality and integrity.
