Honda Canada Finance Inc. is seeking a Representative Recovery – Account Services to work remotely within Honda Canada’s Account Services department and report to the Supervisor, Account Services.

Qualifications

  • Completed post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Financial Services, or 1–3 years with proven results.
  • Knowledge of collection and repossession laws.
  • Bi-lingual in French and English required.
  • Strong decision‑making, negotiating, planning, analytic and strategic skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and listening skills.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment with initiative.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
  • Detail oriented, results oriented, well organized and a team player.

Responsibilities

  • Handle Recovery Processes (charged off, bankruptcies, total loss, insurance tracking, delinquent).
  • Correspond with insurance companies, research values, accept offers and inform customers.
  • Manage Insurance Tracking Process with authorizations and documentation.
  • Meet set monthly departmental targets based on discharge documents.
  • Support Senior Associates on bankruptcy and legal matters.
  • Handle third party collections agency placements and monitor recoveries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and share best practices.
  • Monitor high risk accounts and liaise with dealers, customers and internal teams.
  • File claims and decide on repossessions for bankruptcies.

*** PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A REMOTE ROLE** The associate will work within Honda Canada’s Account Services department and will report to the Supervisor, Account Services. The Representative Recovery – Account Services acts in the capacity of trusted advisor to Customers by providing payment solutions and options to resolve past due accounts and minimize credit loss for HCFI. Individually assigned responsibilities may include but not limited to, the principal functional responsibilities listed below.


Responsibilities


  • Handling any one of the Recovery Processes (Charged off accounts, Bankruptcies, Total Loss Process, Insurance Tracking and Delinquent accounts).

  • Correspond and deal with insurance companies, research values on cars, follow-up and accept offers from insurance companies as well as provide customers with accurate information.

  • Handle the Insurance Tracking Process by reviewing the accounts, obtaining authorization for waivers, preparing necessary documents, and obtaining the insurance policies.

  • Ensure that the set monthly departmental targets are met based on discharge documents.

  • Support the Senior Associates with communication regarding bankruptcy and legal matters.

  • Handle third party collections agency placement and monitor the recoveries by each agency.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Share best practices amongst the team members to increase efficiency.

  • Monitor high risk accounts and act as a liaison with dealers, customers, and other internal departments.

  • Handle bankruptcies by filing the appropriate claims and deciding on repossessions.


Qualifications


  • Completed post-secondary education and/or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Financial Services, and or 1-3 years of relevant, progressive business experience with a proven track record of delivering results.

  • Knowledge of laws in regards to collection and repossession of assets.

  • Bi-lingual in French and English is required.

  • Strong decision-making, negotiating, planning, analytic, and strategic skills.

  • Demonstrated above average interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), problem solving, and listening skills.

  • Ability to deal effectively and professionally in a rapidly changing and fast paced environment.

  • A high level of individual initiative and ability to work with minimal direction.

  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Must be detail oriented, results oriented, well organized, and a team player.


Salary

The hourly rate range for this position is $ $27.91–$34.89 CAD hourly. Individual rate within this range are determined by a variety of job-related factors, including education, experience, knowledge, and skill set.


Remote Work Information

This is a work-from-home position that requires employees to work-from-home five days per week (with a hoteling workspace when attending the assigned company office on occasion).
