Job summary

Surrey Police Service (SPS) is seeking two Regular Full-Time Records Clerk 3s to join the Information Management and Technology Division. You will perform intermediate data entry using SPS systems and support staff and the public with file retrieval and information requests in a fast-paced policing environment.

Schedule is 35 hours per week with flexibility for operational needs and collective agreement guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by in-house courses relevant to the SPS records system, plus two years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Typing speed of 45 wpm.
  • All applicants must obtain and maintain the required police clearance throughout their employment with SPS. This role also requires RCMP Reliability Status (security clearance).

Responsibilities

  • Performs data collection, entry, and retrieval using SPS electronic data systems.
  • Reviews scores, forwards general occurrences to the appropriate sections and/or concludes files based on predetermined criteria.
  • Provides information from files to SPS staff, public, and outside agencies.
  • Inputs accurate information and details from files.
  • Screens and/or refers requests to the appropriate SPS staff or agency.
  • Assists other staff in performing their duties.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
