Qualifications

  • The candidate must be fluent in English.
  • The candidate should have a College or diploma program of 1–2 years or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of related industry experience.
  • The candidate must complete a Veterinary Assistant course.
  • The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and relay messages.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Prepare and administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Perform receptionist duties and clerical tasks.
  • Maintain records of animals treated.
  • Handle, restrain, and care for animals during treatment and surgery.
  • Clean and disinfect cages and enclosures.
  • Assist the veterinarian before, during, and after surgery.
  • Process money, cheques, and credit/debit card payments.

  • The candidate must answer the phone and relay phone calls and messages.
  • The candidate must provide excellent customer service.
  • The candidate must sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.
  • The candidate will be responsible for preparing and administering medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing receptionist duties.
  • The candidate must perform administrative tasks.
  • The candidate will be responsible for clipping animal nails.
  • The candidate will be responsible for monitoring and documenting animal behavior.
  • The candidate will be responsible for managing routine office functions such as reception, telephone, and booking appointments.
  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and ordering supplies.
  • The candidate must keep records of all animals treated.
  • The candidate will be responsible for handling, restraining, and caring for animals undergoing treatment and surgery.
  • The candidate will be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stalls, and enclosures.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting the veterinarian before, during, and after surgery.
  • The candidate must assist with inoculation and treatment of animals.
  • The candidate must respond to client inquiries and provide information.
  • The candidate will be responsible for processing money, cheques, and credit/debit card payments.
  • The candidate must perform reception and clerical duties.
Job Requirements
  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must complete a Veterinary Assistant course.
  • The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
