Job Description

Candidates are invited to apply for the position of part-time/casual Receptionist including weekends to work at Extendicare Hillcrest locations, with 112-bed long term care home, located in NW Calgary, Alberta.

Reporting to the Office Managers, the Receptionist is responsible for providing clerical and administrative and scheduling support to ensure that office, reception and scheduling services are provided in a courteous, effective, and timely manner.

Responsibilities
  1. Greeting visitors, determine purpose of visit, and direct visitors to appropriate person or service
  2. Answer and forward telephone calls, take messages, schedule appointments
  3. Accounts Payable & Accounts receivables processing and collection
  4. Processing Resident Census
  5. Maintain records as required and performs clerical work as assigned following Extendicare policies and procedures; maintain current, orderly filing system
  6. Handle payments and trust deposits and withdrawals from families and residents, distribute mail
  7. Maintain office equipment by following guidelines in owner manuals and contacting service repair as necessary
  8. Monitor front door for residents at risk to elope
  9. Adhere to established policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, and environment and infection control.
  10. Replace Staffing Scheduler and all duties when required
  11. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  1. Post-Secondary education with a payroll, customer care focus.
  2. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  3. Knowledge and experience in:
  4. standard office practices,
  5. use of office equipment,
  6. computer fundamentals and software
  7. Proficiency in Word and Excel is a requirement
  8. Demonstrated competencies in planning, time management, ability to determine the priorities of duties and tasks and to be self-directed in their completion
