Job summary

Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s Canada in Dartmouth, NS is seeking a Receiving Associate to support back room operations including receiving, inventory control, replenishment, and housekeeping. The role involves handling inbound shipments, stocking from back room to the sales floor, and maintaining merchandise presentation.

You will perform floor checks, verify counts, and assist with purges as needed, while following safety rules such as steel‑toe boots and PAL licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of work.
• Customer service oriented team player.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and other business contacts in a courteous, positive and professional manner.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods, and to move and handle boxes of merchandise.
• Steel toes work boots are required.
• Must be able to obtain a PAL license.

Responsibilities

• Receive P.O.s into the building.
• Physically count incoming packages and verify with packing slip.
• Carry merchandise from back room to sales floor.
• Fold, repackage, sort, face, and re-hang Bass Pro/Cabela’s Canada products.
• Replenish departments and ensure shelves are full.
• Perform floor checks: pricing, signage, inventory, min/max, and ensure tags are in place.
• Assist with merchandise purges when necessary.

Reporting to the Back Room Department Manager, a Receiving Associate is responsible for backend operations including receiving, warehouse, inventory control, replenishment, stocking and maintenance/housekeeping departments

Responsibilities:

• Systematically receive P.O.’s that come into the building
• Physical count of all packages coming into the building and verify count with packing slip
• Conduct stocking activities from back room to sales floor
• Perform tasks including folding, repackaging, sorting, facing and re-hanging of newly arriving Bass Pro/Cabela’s Canada product
• Conduct general replenishment of all departments including facing, hanging merchandise
• Conduct floor checks including cleaning, updates to pricing and signage, inventory, verification of min/max settings, ensuring that shelves are full and that security tags are in place
• Assist with merchandise purges when necessary
