Job summary

Mississaugua Golf and Country Club is seeking a part-time Receiving and Store Room Clerk to manage purchasing and receiving of beverage items and related materials. You will handle requisitioning, inventory control, receiving, storage and cost-effective procurement to support daily operations and events.

Collaboration with kitchen, catering, and clubhouse teams is essential. Candidates should have 3+ years in a golf/hospitality setting, a related college diploma, and strong negotiation,

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of related experience in a Golf Club/hospitality environment.
  • College diploma in Business Administration, Production or Inventory Management—asset.
  • Certification with Purchasing Management Association or equivalent—asset.
  • Basic wine knowledge—asset.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation).
  • Strong negotiation, planning and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to MGCC procurement and F&B policies, procedures and systems.
  • Ensure timely, cost-effective product acquisition and delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with kitchen, catering, clubhouse and other teams to determine requirements.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure best price and service.
  • Develop new supply sources and maintain inventory records.
  • Receive beverage items, reconcile undelivered/poor quality items, and approve invoices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Clubhouse Manager.

Position Summary:

The Mississaugua Golf and Country Club is seeking a part-time Receiving and Store Room Clerk to join our dynamic and fun team. The Receiving and Store Room Clerk will be responsible for managing and coordinating the purchasing and receiving of MG&CC beverage items, as well as some materials, as needed. Responsibilities include purchase requisitioning, inventory control, receiving and storage functions, as well as ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of all products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to MG&CC procurement and F&B purchase policies, procedures, and systems to support the business, from product identification; purchase requisitioning; receiving, storage, and inventory control.
  • Ensure timely, cost-effective product acquisition and related delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with key internal team members (kitchen, catering coordinator, clubhouse manager, locker room attendant, etc.) to determine food and beverage requirements for day-to-day operations, special Club events, and member events, including related delivery locations and timelines.
  • Negotiate with suppliers/vendors to secure the best possible price and service guarantee.
  • Develop new supply sources where vendors are inadequate, unreliable, too costly, etc.
  • Receive all beverage items upon delivery, ensuring all items are accounted for and are of high quality. Reconcile any undelivered/poor quality items against payment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and record of all beverage items.
  • Authorize all supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and entering into computer system for tracking purposes.
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve purchasing processes at MG&CC.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Clubhouse Manager.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of related experience in a Golf Club/hospitality environment
  • College diploma in a Business Administration, Production or Inventory Management related program an asset.
  • Certification with Purchasing Management Association, Association of Production and Inventory Control or equivalent is an asset.
  • Basic wine knowledge is an asset.
  • Teamwork and cooperation.

  • Thorough working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Complete knowledge of inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Extensive knowledge and ability to negotiate best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, email and internet.
