Job summary

AltaLink is hiring two full‑time Control Centre Operators in Calgary. You will manage and operate transmission facilities in real‑time, around the clock, reporting to the ACC Real Time Manager.

Rotating 12‑hour shifts are required, with strong focus on safety, reliability and customer service. Join a team that values collaboration and continuous improvement as you monitor system performance, perform switching procedures, and document events for compliance and metrics while supporting training

Qualifications

• Electrical/technical diploma or equivalent utility experience.
• Will attain and maintain NERC certification as Transmission Operator.
• Proven ability with the listed responsibilities and tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Operate the system per Transmission Operating Procedures and ARS/NERC policies.
• Monitor voltage, loading, and implement actions to minimize violations.
• Assess impacts and restore system to a stable state with minimum risk.
• Prepare and execute planned and emergency switching procedures.
• Log events, changes, disturbances, and trouble for documentation.
• Prepare reports for documentation, compliance, investigations and metrics.
• Support training and provide SME input for ACC tools and testing.
• Interact with internal partners and customers to ensure service quality.
• Participate in continuous improvement and other duties as assigned.
