Job description

A career in our Property Valuation Practice, within Deals Valuation, offers you the opportunity to leverage expertise in the real estate market. Progress towards qualification with professional bodies such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AACI) is required. You will be involved in real estate valuations for purposes like taxation, mergers and acquisitions, and advisory services, supporting our integrated deals team.

PwC reviews some of the largest and highest quality real estate across Canada, spanning various asset classes. Our valuation services include transaction pricing, strategic decision-making support, regulatory and financial reporting, income tax, and estate planning. Key services include real estate assurance, business valuations with real estate components, purchase price allocations, financial modeling, and appraisals. Our clients trust us to help them understand their real estate values.

Meaningful work you’ll be part of

As a Real Estate Valuations Senior Associate, you’ll work with a team of problem solvers on complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting in preparing and analyzing real estate market research across multiple asset classes and markets in Canada.
• Supporting the preparation of initial drafts of reports, valuation analyses, memos, and pitches, using industry and business acumen.
• Supporting our real estate assurance function, including reviewing valuation methodologies and assumptions for financial statements related to clients such as pension funds, REITs, private equity, and developers.
• Interacting with clients, advisors, and stakeholder groups.
• Collaborating within PwC Valuations and Real Assets teams and across the deals ecosystem, supporting projects with a real estate scope.

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve problems

• A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working with diverse perspectives.
• Ability to multitask on deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A broad real estate background, possibly with a valuation focus leading to an AACI designation.
• Knowledge in areas like highest & best use analysis, leasing strategy, facility management, or corporate real estate is favorable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; experience with Argus is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint for pitches and presentations.
